Tangerine Tango

It’s official, my orange crush has got me in a twist! I’m all about the trendy tangerine. Pantone revealed the colour of 2012; Tangerine Tango. It’s a luscious reddish-orange colour that get me real excited to wear. Lucky for me, Spring collections have been bursting with this juicy hue and if the rumors are true, Fall will continue to utilize the trendy tangerine.

I incorporated the colour into my most recent look and paired it with a wild factor: leopard accessories. The dress, from Lulu*s really caught my eye and the title of this fierce frock; Darling Deneuve Red Dress. The color and unique fabric really drew me in and the one thing that basically was my “icing on the cake”: the leopard belt. I love pairing bold juicy colours with a touch of animal print. It really just takes an outfit up a notch.

One of the items in this look that really gets me excited are my leopard print “Catherine” pumps from Sole Society. I have been obsessing over these heels for a month as I had been hunting a pair of medium height leopard pointy heels for months! Also, if you don’t remember, I am one of the Fashion Insider’s this January for Sole Society, you can view the post here. Anyhow…I am extremely happy to have found these dreams shoes, and I’m 100% serious when I say…these are the most comfortable heels ever!

[Sponsored] No Finer Feeling…

I’ve always wondered about why quality is so important, especially when it comes to clothing. With the major explosion of “fast-fashion”, clothing quality is unfortunately not what it used to be. Only recently have I noticed this depreciation of quality as I began examining my own clothing and researching more on the fashion industry and how clothing is created.

Of course, I am one to mix and match high-end designers with “fast-fashion” but I’ve come to realize that most of my “fast-fashion” garments, I began to call “disposable clothing”. Naturally, if the price is right, get it. Of course, over time these “disposable” items add up, which is why I truly began to appreciate the quality and detail in designer clothes.

Weekend Sequins

This weekend was rather exciting as I can officially say that I am a graduate student! I had my first day of class this Friday and am happy to say have enjoyed the whole day spent on Saturday reading and doing my assignments. I can’t wait to continue on in this adventure. Graduate school is huge and always has been a dream. I am going to get my M.A in Marriage & Family Therapy. Did you go to graduate school? If so…please leave comments on your experiences and/or tips! Would love to hear them!

This outfit was what I wore for a lunch meeting this weekend. I purchased this sequin sleeve blazer a month or so ago and was very excited to wear it. It’s such a statement piece that I kept the rest of my outfit very simple.

All that glitters…

HAPPY FRIDAY!

There is something about sequins that just make me feel instantly better. For a meeting (fashion-based), I wore this gold sequined jacket that I had bought nearly three years ago. I kept the rest of my outfit very simple; total black. I did add some red lipstick to give my look a little va-va-voom. I also put my hair in a knot-bun, something I’m not usually one to sport. I’m all curls or straight hair, so testing new ways to “update” my hair is always fun!
